I saw that there will be an episode with a wheelchair and I really want to know what brand of wheelchair he will be in, is there a way to find this out?
are there any pictures that can be released that I can see, I could find out very easily what chair it is by that, if it is a good shot of the chair

Exceptional show on WV Coalmines. My grandfather went into the coalmines when he was 9 years old and stayed until he was 62 right around 1980. From watching the show last night I can see the improvements made to mine safety since the time of his retirement, and today is it by far not enough. Can you imagine a 9 year old child working under the conditions of the West Virginia coalmines in 1927? At 9 I was still afraid of the dark. This is the way of life there, to stay in the land you love. Even a mile deep into the earth its still Almost Heaven in West Virginia! Exceptional work Morgan!!

The coal mining show was excellent and a definite break to the preachy environmentalist/King Coal conflict that you see on so many other shows about coal mining. Morgan provided that extra dimension, the miner side, that we tend to forget. I work in the industry but my dad worked underground for less than 20 years and just underwent a double lung transplant because of complications he suffered from black lung. Thanks for reminding the world about the faces behind every flick of a light switch and maybe one day we can have more comfortable alternatives to those pesky respirators.

I must disagree with the people who posted above. I thought the show was lacking in many areas. There is more to coal mining than shoveling the belt and Black Lung. More could have been done on red hat training and saftey, roof bolting and control, equiptment and so on. All I saw was the belt, the portal, a scoop (not in action) and the head of a miner (not in action). The environmental issues, in my opinion were one sided. OVEC (environmentalist) got twice the air time as Bill Raney (WV Coal Association). Not once did I see a reclaimed Mountian top but we did see what OVEC wanted to show. I would implore Morgan to play a round of golf at twisted gun, a reclaimed mountain top, before spreading the "Surface mining is destroying WV" point of veiw. For me, a person who watched 30 days, for the first time because of the topic, you sure didn't win me over. It is clear to me that 30 days is not long enough to understand why a coal miner would take pride in their work. If it was, perhaps the show would have appealed to me more.
