This superb documentary series suffered a real setback this week when Morgan's touching and perceptive account of 30 days on the Navaho reservation featured him killing a spider, bringing a sheep as a gift, murdering that sheep, and finally celebrating the brutality of rodeo as a sport. I am sure it is all defended as culturally appropriate. But some traditions are just wrong. I was hoping those tears at the end were for the sheep who clearly wanted to live just as much as we all do. Shame!
