Katie was the wrong candidate
I do not beleive in the Catholic church (nor any predominant religion) and I am totally open about gay and lesbians couples. I had and still have some issues about g a y couples adopting children because of personnal beleifs (none related to religion). For this reason, I was really looking forward to this episode and hoping it would change my beleifs by confronting me with facts.

Unfortunately that did not happen as I hoped. My biggest concern was the fact that Katie was against g a y couples in the first place, which was not the issue here. She had to confront this problem, before being able to confront her issue of kids being adopted by these couples. Morgan and his team should have picked someone very confortable with g a ys and lesbians, but that had moral issues about them having kids.

However, the show did manage to show a great point of view about kids being in foster homes and to whom, a g a y couple, would be a million times better than no family at all. For this, I admit it was eye opening and I cannot rationnaly debate this fact with any of my moral beleifs.

I am left with a serious concern that maybe someone would like to answer to. Do you think 2 fathers raising girls, or 2 mothers raising boys, would be an issue? I do not beleive in them turning homosexual at all, but Im more concerned about what boys and girls need to learn from both sexes, but especially their own.

Thank you

I don't see a difference between your scenarios and a single parent raising a child of the opposite gender. My sister is a single mom and she does understand the importance of her two sons having healthy male role models, which she tries to include thru uncles, grandfathers, coaches, pastor, etc. Chilcren belonging to gay people don't grow up in a vacuum devoid of a particular gender and I'm guessing as hard as they have to work to get thier child(ren), they probably understand the importance of positive role models.
